Install the studio
Where to get the desktop app, what it needs and what happens on first launch.

Get the installer
Download it from the Download page while signed in. During early access, subscribers also receive the installer by email the day a build is released.
The studio keeps everything it makes in one folder on your disk: your characters, outputs, recipes and settings. Nothing in that folder is uploaded.
What your computer needs
The studio itself is light. The heavy work happens in an engine: ComfyUI on your own GPU, a GPU you rent by the hour, or an API provider. You need at least one of them, and you can mix them.
For your own GPU, an NVIDIA card with 8 GB of VRAM runs SDXL comfortably; Flux models and video want 12 to 24 GB. If your card is smaller, rent for the big jobs.
First launch
The studio opens on its home screen and asks you to sign in once. After that it walks you to your first engine.
- 1Open the studio and press Sign in.
- 2Approve the short code on this site (see the next article).
- 3Pick where pictures are made: your ComfyUI or a GPU rented from inside the studio.
